What You Can Expect on Your First Visit

During your first visit to the office of Dr. David Wheatcroft, here are some things you can expect:

Patient Forms

When you first arrive, our receptionist will greet you and provide you with the necessary patient forms. This paperwork gives us insight into your health history and details your current condition you want treated.

A consultation with Dr. David Wheatcroft is then conducted to discuss your health-related problems, concerns and potential treatments. This consultation allows Dr. Wheatcroft to learn more about you to better help you reach your goals.

Dr. Wheatcroft will then perform a complete chiropractic examination, testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other tests, including orthopaedic, postural and neurological, will be performed too, with your consent.

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your condition, Dr. Wheatcroft may need to take X-rays. An X-ray gives us a more thorough picture of your issue in order to create a more effective treatment plan. It can also alert us to any serious spinal conditions, misalignments and degenerations commonly missed by the initial examination.

Report of Findings

Once Dr. Wheatcroft has gathered the necessary information, he reports his findings answering questions like:

  • How can chiropractic care help?
  • How many sessions are needed?
  • What will the suggested treatment cost?

Dr. Wheatcroft offers recommendations and will notify you if your condition requires care with other providers.

At the end of your initial appointment, you have a choice of experiencing your first chiropractic treatment. This first treatment may include:

  • Spinal adjustments
  • Physical therapy
  • Soft tissue massage

Don’t forget that your treatment is interactive! You can express any concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.

Wellness Program

Before leaving, Dr. Wheatcroft may suggest a wellness program that you can incorporate outside your treatment. This program may include ice or heat application instructions, home exercises, stretches, certain positions to avoid and more. We can even work with you to create healthy habits and routines to improve your lifestyle.

Each patient is unique and therefore your treatment should be just as customized to fit your needs. Call the office of Dr. David Wheatcroft to set up an appointment for your first visit at our office in Prince George.
